We offer a practical model for connecting:
community voice, lived experience, formal evidence, shared intelligence, democratic participation, action, policy learning and future investment.
We are looking for partners who understand that climate, inequality, nature, local economies, public trust and community power cannot be addressed in isolation.
CFC is relevant to funders, public-sector, universities, circular economy organisations, community networks, cultural organisations, businesses and civic innovators working across:
| 1. It fills a gap in the field | Many initiatives produce portraits, strategies, indicators, engagement programmes or policy frameworks. CFC’s distinct contribution is to connect these into a Freirean-Doughnut civic praxis model: a pathway from everyday experience to critical consciousness, shared place intelligence, democratic choice, participatory budgeting and practical action. | | --- | --- | | 2. It reaches beyond the usual bubble | CFC is designed for people who may not already identify with climate, sustainability, circular economy or regenerative economics. It begins with everyday life, place, language and what matters. | | 3. It creates useful intelligence | CFC combines stories, lived experience and formal data to generate Neighbourhood Doughnuts, Borough Doughnuts and regional Doughnut Intelligence. This can help funders, public bodies and partners better understand where needs, assets, ecological pressures and opportunities intersect. | | 4. It builds democratic legitimacy | CFC creates visible feedback loops so that people can see how their participation informs priorities, decisions, action and learning. | | 5. It creates a route to action | The model is designed to move beyond consultation into practical pathways: platform participation, participatory budgeting, Circular Mission Prototypes, policy workshops and future investment cases. | | 6. It is designed to learn and scale carefully | The Merseyside pilot will generate methods, tools, evidence and learning that can inform future replication in other regions. |
